Arsenal now hold talks to sign £26m United star, he's scored 6 times in 2025 - report
Arsenal are interested in signing one of Manchester United’s outcasts this summer, according to Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte.
The Gunners have had a disappointing Premier League campaign by their high standards and have picked up just 67 points from 35 games.
They are bound to reinforce their attack for next season, and UOL report that the club ‘have been asking’ about Antony in recent times.
Antony joined Real Betis on loan from United in January this year, and he has fared impressively with six goals and four assists to date.
United are poised to sanction his sale in the summer, and he could be prised away for between £26 million to £34 million, as per UOL.
It is added that clubs are unlikely to pay a higher transfer fee, considering they are aware of United’s intention to ‘very much’ negotiate.
United must cut their losses on Antony this summer
Antony has been a huge disappointment since his £85m move from Ajax in the summer of 2022.
He has accumulated just 12 goals and five assists from 96 appearances for United in all competitions.
The winger has fared exceptionally well on loan with Betis. United need to capitalise on his form to secure a decent package for his departure.
Atletico Madrid are monitoring him closely, and the arrival of Arsenal to the mix could pave the way for a bidding battle for the right-sided winger.
A £26m-£34m asking price has been mentioned, but United should look for the maximum value, highlighting his short-term progress with Betis.
United could prefer sanctioning Antony’s sale to Atletico rather than sending him to a direct league rival for the Champions League places next season.
