0 13

Fresh off the back of a huge Europa League win, Tottenham Hotspur will take a trip to West Ham United on Sunday for an exciting Premier League fixture.

The Lilywhites succumbed to a 5-1 defeat against Liverpool last weekend, with their city rivals also losing 3-2 to Brighton & Hove Albion in their previous league outing.

Match Preview

There has not been much to cheer for Tottenham supporters this season.

Their performances in the English league have been massively disappointing, with the team currently sitting 16th in the standings after losing 19 of their 34 matches.

Ange Postecoglou’s side took a sound beating at the hands of Liverpool last Sunday, with the result confirming the Merseyside titans as the new champions of England.

However, Spurs’ are wholly focused on the Europa League now, as it offers their only route to secure Champions League football next season.

In a delightful Tottenham news for their supporters, Ange’s side took a big step in their quest to make a continental final by thrashing Bodo/Glimt 3-1 in the first leg of the semi-final tie on Thursday.

Brennan Johnson, James Maddison and Dominic Solanke all got on the scoresheet to put the North Londoners in complete control of the tie.

They will now face a struggling West Ham side who fell to a 3-2 loss to Brighton last time at the Amex Stadium

The Hammers appeared to be winning after second-half strikes from Mohammed Kudus and Tomas Soucek, but a late rally saw Kaoru Mitoma and Carlos Baleba scoring to secure an excellent victory for the Seagulls.

Team News

Tottenham’s win over Bodo/Glimt came at a huge cost for them, as Lucas Bergvall, James Maddison and Dominic Solanke all sustained injuries. The trio are unlikely to be involved in Sunday’s clash.

As for West Ham, Michail Antonio and Crysencio Summerville remain long-term absentees, while Edson Alvarez is a doubt for the upcoming fixture.
