Why ‘Concerned’ Charles Barkley Plans To Reach Out To Bill Belichick

Bill Belichick is no stranger to the national spotlight, but the widespread attention he receives typically relates to football matters.

That’s what made the legendary coach’s latest foray into headline-grabbing all the more bizarre.

Belichick has become a hot topic of conversation in wake of a very strange “CBS Mornings” interview. Most of the New England Patriots legend’s remarks in the sit-down were awkward, but the most noteworthy highlight of the media appearance was Jordon Hudson’s strong presence. And as more reports come out, the more it seems like the 24-year-old has a significant — and perhaps troubling — hold on Belichick’s life.

The eyebrow-raising hasn’t been limited to regular folks on social media either. Even Belichick’s longtime peers are taking notice.

“He’s been a great friend of mine for a long time,” Charles Barkley said Wednesday on “The Dan Patrick Show,” as transcribed by NJ.com. “…I never talk about people’s personal relationships, that’s a rule I have, but I will admit I’m a little concerned with some of the stuff going on, and I might actually reach out to him.”

Barkley hardly is the only notable Belichick colleague who’s been taken aback by the 73-year-old’s increasingly odd relationship with Hudson. The pairing and their penchant for drama prompted former Patriots linebacker Ted Johnson to suggest North Carolina fire Belichick before his first season in Chapel Hill even starts.
