Easter Camp at SIA Academy: football, training and true values

During this Easter Week, the facilities of SIA Academy in Enguera hosted a new edition of the now traditional Campus, which has become one of the most important training experiences in the ten-year history of the academy. The event brought together dozens of passionate young footballers who had the opportunity to learn, compete and enjoy under the guidance of a top-level coaching team.

Over two intensive weeks, the players developed their technical, tactical and personal skills. In addition, the Marenostrum Tournament, held in Salou (Tarragona), added a competitive dimension that allowed participants to apply what they had learned at the Campus, competing at the highest level against clubs from all over the country.

First week: full preparation to face the challenge

The Campus began with a clear focus: to prepare the players in the best possible way to face the demanding Marenostrum Tournament. From the very first day, training sessions concentrated on technical development, led by coaches such as José Luis and Rafa, who provided personalised follow-ups to assess each participant’s starting point.

Individual technique and ball control were key aspects, tackled through precision exercises, control drills and decision-making under pressure. These sessions helped players become familiar with the academy’s playing style and build a solid foundation for the challenges ahead.

Tactics and game intelligence: the DNA of SIA Academy

At the same time, tactical training played a crucial role. In this area, Alain, a video analysis expert, organised interactive workshops where players learned to interpret the game from a strategic perspective. They worked on positioning, reading the game, organised pressing and other key tactical concepts essential to adapting to the competitive style of the academy.

This learning was not limited to the pitch; classroom-based sessions with audiovisual support were also delivered, analysing real matches and discussing tactical decisions. The goal was clear: to form intelligent players who can think the game beyond just technical execution.

Nutrition and psychology: keys to performance

At SIA Academy, player development is approached from a comprehensive perspective. As such, the first week of the Campus also included workshops on sports nutrition and performance psychology.

Cristóbal Camarasa, the academy’s nutritionist, taught the players the importance of tailored nutrition at different stages of competition: what to eat before a match, how to recover afterwards, and how to maintain energy levels during games.

On the mental side, psychologist José Luis guided the players through sessions focused on managing pressure, improving concentration, and building confidence. Mental preparation was especially important ahead of the Marenostrum Tournament, helping players stay emotionally balanced and respond maturely to competitive challenges.

Marenostrum tournament: an unforgettable experience

SIA Academy’s participation in the prestigious Marenostrum Tournament was undoubtedly one of the most exciting moments of the Campus. Three teams represented the academy in Salou: two in the youth category and one in the cadet category.

The Youth B team delivered an outstanding performance, reaching the gold semifinals after a thrilling penalty shootout. Considering many of the players barely knew each other beforehand, this achievement was even more impressive. Teamwork, quick adaptation, and the commitment of the entire technical staff were key to this success.

Meanwhile, the Youth A and Cadet teams also performed at a very high level, each with two wins and two defeats. Both teams displayed competitive, organised, and bold football, facing strong opponents and leaving a positive impression both on and off the field.

Beyond the results, the tournament was a perfect opportunity for growth, allowing players to learn how to compete, live together as a team, and represent the values of SIA Academy with pride.

Second week: high intensity and individual development

Back in Enguera after the tournament in Salou, the second week of the Campus focused on enhancing each player’s individual growth. The enthusiasm generated by the tournament served as a powerful boost to increase commitment and intensity during training.

Sessions were designed to address specific technical aspects identified during competition and were complemented by high-intensity training, physical load management, and functional workouts in the gym. The aim was to maintain competitive rhythm without compromising the players’ recovery.

This second phase of the Campus also encouraged personal reflection, enabling each player to analyse their performance and set concrete goals to continue improving as footballers.

More than football: values that make a difference

One of SIA Academy’s strongest pillars is education through values. Throughout the Campus, a positive environment was promoted where respect, teamwork, effort, and passion took centre stage.

Coaches, instructors and specialists not only taught football—they also instilled a way of understanding sport as a tool for personal growth. Every talk, training session and match was an opportunity to become better players and better people.

An Easter Camp to remember

The 2025 Easter edition of the SIA Academy Campus has exceeded all expectations. Training, competition, friendship and fun came together over two enriching and intense weeks.

With a dedicated technical team, a comprehensive methodology and a committed group of players, SIA Academy once again demonstrated why it is a benchmark in the development of young footballers. And above all, it reaffirmed that true success lies not only in results, but in the journey, the learning, and the values that remain for life.
