Tottenham Hotspur will look to delay Liverpool’s coronation when they face the Merseyside giants on Sunday. 

The Lilywhites have had an abysmal domestic campaign, but all their energies are now focused on winning the Europa League to qualify for next season’s Champions League. 

Match Preview 

With Arsenal suffering a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace in midweek, Liverpool only need one more point this weekend to wrap up the 2024-25 Premier League title. 

The Reds relegated Leicester City last Sunday after local lad Trent Alexander-Arnold came off the bench to score a 76th-minute winner at the King Power Stadium. 

The Anfield stands were empty when they last lifted the league trophy during the COVID days of 2020, but the home fans will be able to celebrate inside the stadium this time if they avoid defeat against Spurs. 

Tottenham have been enduring a disappointing run of form at the moment, with the Londoners losing five of their previous seven top-flight matches. 

Their latest defeat came at home against Nottingham Forest who claimed an excellent 2-1 win after early strikes from Elliot Anderson and top-scorer Chris Wood. 

Tottenham will be fighting for pride this weekend when they travel to Merseyside to take on Liverpool. 

Team News 

Liverpool news is very positive for their supporters, as they will only be missing two players on Sunday. Joe Gomez is working his way back from a hamstring operation, while Tyler Morton is nursing a shoulder issue.  

As for Tottenham, they remain without Radu Dragusin due to a long-term injury. Son Heung-min is also recovering from a foot problem and will not be involved at Anfield.
