Will Campbell, Drake Maye Already Shared This Important Patriots Meeting
Will Campbell is ready to protect Patriots quarterback Drake Maye no matter what.
New England selected the LSU offensive tackle with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Campbell and Maye took turns hyping each other up Thursday night and had a chance to meet Friday at One Patriot Place before the lineman’s official introduction. The Patriots have a force to protect their franchise quarterback, and Campbell hopes to pull the best from their relationship.
“Yeah, that’s my quarterback,” Campbell told reporters at Gillette Stadium, per team-provided video. “I’m just super excited to continue to build the relationship with him. Get to know each other as people, that’s something I’m looking forward to. I’m a quarterback guy. I care about him a lot off the field and on the field. We were able to talk. He met my family. That was pretty cool.”
Campbell stood up to the challenge against elite pass-rushers across the SEC and brings that pedigree to the Patriots, who heavily struggled as one of the weakest groups on the line last season. Improved play in the trenches should noticeably push New England further to winning ways in 2025.
The Patriots continue an important draft with the second and third rounds Friday night.
