How Patriots Head Coach Mike Vrabel ‘Shocked’ Matt LaFleur

Matt LaFleur only worked with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel for one season, but it was a memorable experience.

The Packers head coach was Vrabel’s offensive coordinator in 2018 when the two were with the Tennessee Titans. LaFleur’s first experience with the Patriots Hall of Famer was one he didn’t forget.

“That shocked me when I first met Mike, ripping heaters down Broadway,” LaFleur said on the “Pat McAfee Show” on Friday. “That is the truth. That’s old school.”

LaFleur added that whenever his team played against Vrabel, those teams were “tough as (expletive).”

Vrabel built a legendary reputation for himself while at Ohio State as a player and coach, and it’s part of why players gravitate toward him. Unfortunately for LaFleur, he won’t have the opportunity to game plan against his old boss this season. But it’s clear the 45-year-old still maintains a high level of respect for Vrabel after leaving the Titans.
