THE LOWDOWN

We travel to Aberdeen this weekend for a massive fixture in the William Hill Premiership; kick-off at 3pm on Saturday 26 April.

It is a huge game in the race for third place, with the Hibees currently leading the Dons and Dundee United by three points, with five games to go.

Gray’s side are currently enjoying a 17-match unbeaten run in the league – equalling our post-war record that was set in 1948 by the iconic Famous Five side. If we avoid defeat at Pittodrie it would surpass that record.

Within that run, we’ve won 12 and drawn five matches – winning our last three matches against Dundee (4-0), Rangers (0-2) and St Johnstone (3-0) without conceding a goal.

TEAM NEWS

The Hibees had a weekend off last week due to the Scottish Cup semi-finals and Gray will have used that opportunity to get some freshness into the legs of his players ahead of the run-in.

It looks like Joe Newell and Elie Youan remain the only injury concerns ahead of this one, however, Gray will provide a full team news update on Friday afternoon when he speaks to the media.

THE HOSTS

Aberdeen come into this one off the back of a 2-1 victory over Hearts in the Scottish Cup Semi-Final.

The Dons are currently enjoying an unbeaten run of their own which dates back to the end of February.

Jimmy Thelin’s side are unbeaten in their last seven matches which includes cup wins over Queen’s Park and Hearts, whilst also beating Ross County and Motherwell in the league.

So far this season, we’ve taken seven points out of a possible nine against The Dons.

We drew 3-3 in the first meeting between the sides, thanks to Rocky Bushiri’s injury-time equaliser in November. The Hibees then recorded an impressive 3-1 win at Pittodrie in December before backing that up with a comfortable 2-0 win at Easter Road in February.
