The Patriots prepare to make their pick Thursday night in Green Bay, Wis., and there was a general consensus on their direction.

New England might regret winning its final regular-season game — if it wasn’t already — as, according to multiple NFL insiders, Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter are expected to be picked in the top three. That would leave Mike Vrabel’s side in an awkward spot with the fourth overall pick due to the lack of blue-chip prospects expected to be available.

Campbell is the clear consensus choice at No. 4 for the Patriots for many draft analysts. Others went in different directions, like Prisco. However, that likely can be attributed to prognosticators wanting to be different or seeing a shake-up in the top three.

According to Kiper, the top four are locked in and the real NFL draft starts at No. 5 with the Jacksonville Jaguars. That means Patriots fans should be prepared for Campbell’s name to be called when New England is on the clock, unless a team comes in with an enticing trade offer.
