Why Tottenham fans want Aston Villa in the FA Cup Final
An interesting update has explained how Tottenham’s fixtures could be impacted by FA Cup results and why the Lilywhites’ chances of winning the Europa League could be boosted if Aston Villa make the FA Cup final.
Everyone at Tottenham is eagerly waiting for the Europa League semifinal clash against Bodo/Glimt, with the North London side having a golden opportunity to make their first European final since 2019.
If Spurs do get past the Norwegian side, they will meet one of Man United or Athletic Club Bilbao in the final at San Mames on 21 May.
However, as things stand, Tottenham Hotspur are set to play Aston Villa in a Premier League fixture just three days earlier on May 18, which may not be ideal preparation for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Why Tottenham will want Aston Villa to reach FA Cup final
Football.London explain that the date of Tottenham’s league clash against Villa will have to be rearranged if the Villans make the FA Cup final, which is scheduled for May 17.
The outlet points out that finding a new date for the fixture will not be easy due to Tottenham’s participation in the Europa League.
Should Spurs get past Bodo/Glmit in the semifinal, the only free midweek slot would be the week commencing Monday, May 12, with the fixture potentially likely to be played on Wednesday, May 14.
That means that if Villa overcome Crystal Palace in the semifinal, the Lilywhites are likely to have a full week’s rest before the Europa League final, while Unai Emery’s side might be forced to play just a few days before their FA Cup final.
Why Ange Postecoglou will not be worried about the schedule
It would certainly not be ideal for Tottenham to play three days before a Europa League final, which is why most Spurs fans would be rooting for Villa to overcome Palace in the FA Cup semifinal.
However, Postecoglou will not lose too much sleep over the fixture congestion and will be more focused on ensuring his side gets past Bodo/Glimt.
If Tottenham do play three days before the Europa League final, the Spurs boss will likely field a team of youngsters and rest all his big guns.
