How many matches will Lewandowski miss? Serious injury confirmed for Barcelona star
Alarm bells are ringing at Barcelona after their star striker, Robert Lewandowski, was forced off the field during the match against Celta de Vigo due to a physical discomfort. After undergoing the corresponding tests, the club confirmed that he suffered an injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his left thigh and will miss the following matches.
Through an official statement, the ‘Blaugranas’ revealed the severity of this injury, and although they did not provide details of how many games he will miss, he could be out for at least two weeks or even up to four, depending on the evolution of the injury.
“The tests carried out this Sunday have confirmed that Robert Lewandowski suffers an injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his left thigh,” reads the letter issued by Barcelona.
Regarding the time he will be in recovery, the club reported that: “The return to the team dynamic will be decided based on its evolution.”
Games Robert Lewandowski will miss
According to the newspaper Sport, the attacker “will be out for a minimum of two weeks, which in the worst case could be extended to four.” Thus, the first game he will not be able to play will be next Tuesday, April 22, when they face Mallorca. “He will almost certainly miss the League games,” added a report from the aforementioned media.

Similarly, he will not be able to play in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid, which will be on Saturday, April 26, and he will also not be present in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals against Inter, on April 30.
Potential return date
When could he return to play? The first estimates, and taking into account a rapid evolution of his injury, Robert could return to the field on May 11 when the Clasico vs Real Madrid is played in LaLiga. However, anything can happen and it could be delayed several more days, leaving his return until a possible Champions League final or for the last games of the local tournament.
This injury is a major blow for Barcelona, who are relying on Lewandowski’s goals to lead them to success in both La Liga and the Champions League. His absence will put pressure on other players to step up and fill the void.
