Tottenham receive huge Dejan Kulusevski boost hours before Frankfurt clash
Tottenham Hotspur have just been handed a huge Dejan Kulusevski injury boost ahead of the season-defining Europa League quarterfinal second leg against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Spurs have their work cut out to progress to the final four of the Europa League as Frankfurt have an impressive record at home. The German side have also been impressive in the Bundesliga this season, and currently sit firmly in the Champions League places in third.
Frankfurt have initiated a war of words ahead of the second leg, warning Tottenham that they will face an intimidating atmosphere at Deutsche Bank Park.
To make matters worse, Spurs will be without their captain Heung-min Son, who has not travelled to Germany after picking up a foot injury.
Dejan Kulusevski can start for Tottenham if needed
Winning in Frankfurt certainly will not be easy for the Lilywhites without their star forward, but Spurs have been boosted by the latest news regarding another attacker.
Dejan Kulusevski made his return from his injury against Wolves, coming on as a substitute for a 15-minute cameo at the Molineux Stadium.
The Mirror have now claimed that Kulusevski has now been passed fit to start at the Deutsche Bank Park after coming through Sunday’s 4-2 loss unscathed.
If the 24-year-old is named in the eleven, it will be his first start since Tottenham’s 4-1 win away at Ipswich Town back in February.
Ange Postecoglou is excited by the challenge this evening
It has been claimed by several sources that Postecoglou could be sacked if Tottenham fail to progress past Frankfurt, which potentially puts massive pressure on the Spurs boss.
However, the Australian has insisted that his future is the last thing on his mind ahead of the big clash this evening.
Postecoglou revealed that he sees it as a chance for Spurs to achieve something special this season, pointing out that an opportunity to make a European semifinal does not present itself too often.
