Tottenham have not contacted Italian manager yet, Fabrizio Romano reveals

0 3

Fabrizio Romano has provided a very interesting update on Tottenham’s managerial search, with the Italian journalist’s information contradicting what we have heard from some other reliable sources on the matter over recent days.

It would seem, based on the reports over the last few weeks, that Postecoglou’s days as the Tottenham head coach could be numbered.

A number of outlets have claimed that Andoni Iraola is Spurs’ top managerial target followed by Marco Silva and Thomas Frank, with the Fulham and Brentford boss seen as backup options in case a deal for the Spaniard proves out of the Lilywhites’ reach.

Over the last week, some reports from Italy have even claimed that recently sacked Juventus boss Thiago Motta is also being considered by Tottenham, but a fresh update has now poured cold water on those suggestions.

Tottenham update on Thiago Motta, Marco Silva, and Andoni Iraola

Over the last few days, a few reliable sources have suggested that Iraola is leaning towards staying at Bournemouth despite being aware of Tottenham’s interest.

However, that is not what Fabrizio Romano has heard, with the journalist revealing that Spurs have not given up on Iraola and Silva just yet, while adding that the Lilywhites have not reached out to Motta so far.

Romano told GiveMeSport about Tottenham’s managerial search: “I’m still hearing about Iraola and Silva as two concrete options. For Motta, no contacts at this stage.”

Oliver Glasner is moving up Spurs’ managerial wishlist

Apart from the names mentioned by Romano, there is one more Premier League boss who has also been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham over the last few weeks.

It has been claimed that Spurs are eyeing a move for Oliver Glasner, whose future at Selhurst Park is said to be in doubt.

However, Spurs will have to spend a sizable fee to get their hands on Glasner, with the Austrian coach protected by a release clause at Crystal Palace.
