Watch: Tottenham academy graduate scores stunning long-range goal for Celtic
Tottenham Hotspur academy graduate Cameron Carter-Vickers may not have made it in North London, but he scored a screamer in Celtic’s 5-1 win against Kilmarnock this week.
Tottenham Hotspur’s youth setup this season looks rather impressive. The Under-17s have only just gone on to win their second Premier League Cup trophy in the last three seasons.
We’ve also seen a handful of youngsters out on loan doing well, with Josh Keeley, Jamie Donley and George Abbott just a few examples of players catching the eye away from north London.
In the current first-team setup, there are a couple of exciting young names in the Spurs ranks too, with Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Mikey Moore all representing a promising future under Ange Postecoglou.
Tottenham academy graduate Cameron Carter-Vickers scores screamer in Celtic win
While Tottenham will be hoping to see these emerging talents reach their full potential, one former academy graduate – currently at Celtic – pulled off something special this week.
In Celtic’s 5-1 demolition of Kilmarnock, Cameron Carter-Vickers produced an absolute thunderbolt in the 21st minute to put his side 3-0 up — and it left fans stunned.
The defender collected the ball just a little away from the 18-yard box, took a touch to steady himself, and then unleashed a strike that flew into the top left corner.
Carter-Vickers never managed a goal for Tottenham Hotspur
Throughout his time at Spurs, Carter-Vickers never managed to find the net, although chances were limited — he made just five senior appearances for the club before moving on.
Overall, across his entire playing career, the centre-back has now scored 11 goals and registered six assists, with eight of those goals coming in a Celtic shirt.
