The Hibees face a quick turnaround following Sunday's Edinburgh Derby as the girls travel west to take on Celtic.

Our ScottishPower Women’s Premier League clash at New Douglas Park on Wednesday evening kicks off at 8pm. 

The Lowdown

Grant Scott's side remain joint-top of the SWPL alongside first-place Glasgow City - who lead the standings on goal difference - with seven games remaining. 

Our remarkable 16-match unbeaten league run ended at the weekend as Hearts earned a 2-1 victory at Meadowbank Stadium. 

Kathleen McGovern's had put us ahead with an early opener inside two minutes, but the forward's flicked finish was nullified by two quick-fire goals from the visitors in the second half. 

The Hosts

Wednesday's match will be held at a different venue from our first away encounter with Celtic this season, with New Douglas Park setting the stage rather than the Albert Bartlett Stadium

That initial 2024/25 meeting occured all the way back in August, with both sides playing out a fiery clash that produced little goalmouth action and ended goalless. 

Fast-forward to present day and Celtic are currently fourth in the SWPL following an Old Firm draw versus Rangers.

A spectacular Kirsty Howat strike fired the Gers ahead, before former Hibee Amy Gallacher levelled the scoring in the second 45 to earn her side a crucial point. 

Unable to secure victory in the high-stakes televised clash, Elena Sadiku's outfit are now winless in five after also taking on Glasgow City (twice), Hearts and Hibs in recent weeks.

Our narrow win over the Hoops came in early March at Meadowbank, with Eilidh Adams' sublime header the difference on the day.
