Red Sox Star Jarren Duran Tabbed For Prestigious WooSox Honor

Jarren Duran received a notable honor in the organization Saturday, even as the Boston Red Sox granted him a day off.

The Worcester Red Sox, Boston’s Triple-A affiliate, announced the team’s second-ever Hall of Fame class after being snowed out Saturday. Duran earned the nod along with ballpark planner Janet Marie Smith and former big-league JP Ricciardi. Duran is the first active player to receive the honor for the WooSox.

Duran led off the first-ever WooSox game in 2021 and played parts of three seasons for the Red Sox affiliate. The outfielder played 139 games at Triple-A, hitting .266 with an .851 OPS, 28 home runs, 80 RBI and 36 stolen bases.

The Red Sox star adds another honor to his resume after a strong performance to win All-Star Game MVP in 2024.

The WooSox will hold a ceremony to honor inductees, which will be announced at a later date.
