Aware Scotland Awareness Day

0 32

Queen’s Park are delighted to turn the spotlight on charity Aware Scotland when Dunfermline Athletic visit on April 12.

The cause is one close to club partners Dunns food and drink, and the Spiders have worked together with the wholesalers to provide some unforgettable coaching sessions with first-team pro’s for the young people involved in the scheme.

Fan favourite Louis Longridge was back on the pitch with the youngsters recently, delivering more tips and training in a second special session for the charity.

It’s one of the many unique experiences and courses Aware Scotland provides to build confidence in young people and engender life-long friendship among those who have experienced trauma or faced adverse challenges in their lives.

Youngsters have had several special football sessions with players from the Spiders first-team and they’ll be made very welcome at Hampden as they cheer on Louis and his team-mates from the stands against the Pars – just days after his fantastic football session with them.

Julie Dunn, Managing Director at Dunns Food and Drinks, which is based in Blantyre, said:
“Dunns is delighted that we can offer our friends at Aware such an array of opportunities like this one and the coaching sessions at Queen’s Park.

“Aware Scotland a terrific group of young people and the work they do brings such joy.

“We are thrilled that Queen’s Park and their fans have welcomed the Aware team so warmly in the past and we’re sure they look forward to a fantastic day of football at the National Stadium again.”

Chris Glancey, Founder of Aware Scotland added:
“Our partnership with Dunns Food and Drink and Queen’s Park has been fantastic, and we’re thrilled to see it continue through another successful year.

“They’ve gone above and beyond to support our young people, from hosting brilliant football sessions to welcoming our group as fans for previous games and this one – and even including a couple as mascots and as a club photographer!”

Saturday’s awareness day is the latest step in the link-up between Queen’s Park and Aware Scotland.

The charity attended matches last season and earlier this campaign and the Spiders are looking forward to seeing more of the same smiles this weekend.

Head of commercial at QPFC, Kieran Koszary said: “Welcoming the team from Aware is always a highlight of our season and this year we’re raise awareness of the good work they do once again.

“Our very special guests always have a fantastic time whether it’s on the training pitch with the players or in the stands cheering them on – and we look forward to this one and many more.

“Thanks as ever to our friends and long-time supporters at Dunns food and Drink for their work with the club and our tie-in with this wonderful charity.”
