Supercomputer predicts Tottenham will climb the Premier League table

0 8

A supercomputer has predicted the results of all the remaining Premier League matches and has thus deduced what the final table will look like. Although Tottenham are predicted to climb the table, it does not make for exciting reading overall.

Tottenham Hotspur’s entire focus now falls on the Europa League, with the Lilywhites now having an important quarterfinal coming up against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The competition represents the club’s only hope to ensure this season is a successful one as Spurs look to break their 17-year trophy drought and seal passage into next season’s Champions League.

However, Ange Postecoglou has also repeatedly spoken about the need to move up the table, insisting that the players are focused on getting good results in all their remaining games, but that is unlikely if a supercomputer’s calculations are to be believed.

Supercomputer predicts Tottenham will finish in midtable

Spurs currently find themselves languishing in 14th place in the Premier League table and according to AceOdds’ supercomputer, their final league position will not be very different to where they find themselves now.

The algorithm predicts that Tottenham will only pick up seven more points in their remaining seven league matches this season.

However, it suggests that doing so will be enough for Spurs to finish in 13th place in the table with 44 points, with the Lilywhites climbing above Man United on goal difference.

Will Ange Postecoglou be able to survive a bottom-half finish?

The Tottenham boss now knows that he has to win the Europa League to have any chance of remaining in the job for next season.

However, even that might not be enough as some sources have claimed over the last week that Postecoglou is likely to be sacked no matter what happens over the next two months.

A team’s league form is the true measure of their consistency, and the Spurs hierarchy may find it difficult to justify keeping a manager who has presided over a bottom-half finish.
