Unbeaten in Five: Can Villa Stun Brighton and Steal all the Points?

Tomorrow night we head down to the south coast to take on Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium. I don’t know about you, but I’m buzzing for this one. We’re heading into this match unbeaten in our last five games across all competitions, and keeping this winning run going could be massive for our season. Five games without a defeat—three wins and two draws—shows that we’re on the right track.

But, Brighton away is never an easy fixture. The Seagulls have been a tough nut to crack at home, and with their own European ambitions on the line, they’ll be desperate to nick some points off us. Fabian Hurzeler’s side have been on a half decent run (not as good as ours), and there players who are in good form, they can cause us problems if we’re not switched on right from the beginning. But here’s the thing: we’ve got the quality and the momentum to take them on. 

And here’s some brilliant news—Ross Barkley is fit and ready for selection! Reports are that our midfielder  has returned to full training at Bodymoor Heath, and he’s in contention to feature tomorrow night. Barkley’s been sidelined for a bit with a calf injury, but having him back is a massive boost to the squad. Leon Bailey is still nursing a knock and might miss out, but with Barkley back, we’ve got plenty of firepower to call on.

This match feels like a proper six-pointer in the race for those European spots. We’re sitting ninth right now, just a couple of points behind Brighton in seventh, and a win could see us leapfrog them in the table. With the season heading into its final stretch, every point counts, and keeping this unbeaten run alive could give us the confidence to continue rising up the league.

So, let’s get behind the lads tomorrow night. Five games unbeaten is class, but six? That would be fantastic! UTV
