Tottenham receive potential boost in pursuit of Jack Grealish this summer
Tottenham Hotspur have just been handed a potential boost in their rumoured pursuit of Manchester City’s Jack Grealish as we edge closer to the summer transfer window.
There is a major question mark on Heung-min Son’s future at Tottenham, with the South Korean having just one year left on his contract.
If Spurs do decide to move on their captain, they might look to replace him with a marquee name, who is a proven performer at the highest level.
It has been suggested by some pundits that Jack Grealish would be the ideal option to replace Son after the England international fell down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order at Manchester City.
It has been claimed over recent weeks that Tottenham could go back in for Grealish this summer after failing to get a deal over the line for him in January.
Grealish could finally be on the market this summer
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now handed Tottenham Hotspur a boost by revealing that Jack Grealish could be part of an exodus from the Etihad Stadium this summer as the City look to recycle their squad.
He revealed that the former Aston Villa man could depart along with Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne at the end of the season as Pep Guardiola looks to refresh his side.
In fact, the journalist says that City have already started identifying potential replacements for some of these stars, which indicates that they would be receptive to an offer for Grealish.
Tottenham face one obstacle in Jack Grealish deal
However, Spurs do face one big roadblock in their efforts to sign the 29-year-old, who is thought to be on a contract worth £300,000 per week at City.
It was reported a few weeks ago that Grealish would have to take a 33 per cent pay cut in order to join Tottenham as the Lilywhites would not be willing to offer the versatile attacker more than £200,000-a-week.
