Tottenham have competition from RB Leipzig to sign exciting Championship star

It has been revealed that an EFL starlet, who Tottenham Hotspur are keen on landing this summer, has received ‘numerous offers’, with a fresh report talking up the chances of the player making a big move.

Tottenham Hotspur have had plenty of success with their recent recruits from the Championship, with Archie Gray hitting the ground running at the club while Djed Spence has eventually become a hit after a difficult couple of years in North London.

Spurs are now allegedly ready to turn their attention to another teenage midfielder, who has been turning a lot of heads with his performances in English football’s second tier this season.

It has been reported over recent weeks that Tottenham are ready to turn their attention to Jobe Bellingham, with Ange Postecoglou’s men said to have been impressed by the 19-year-old’s progress at the Stadium of Light.

Jobe Bellingham is likely to leave Sunderland this summer

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now taken to social media to reveal that Bellingham has no shortage of offers ahead of the summer, with numerous clubs chasing him.

One of those is said to be RB Leipzig, who are ‘seriously interested’ in the Sunderland man and have held initial talks over a possible transfer.

Plettenberg says that for the moment, the Bundesliga club deem the deal to be ‘too expensive’, but he adds that Bellingham is ‘likely’ to be on the move this summer.

How much would Bellingham cost Tottenham this summer?

This update from Plettenberg comes a couple of weeks after it was reported that Sunderland are expected to demand £20m for Bellingham this summer.

Other sources have indicated that Man United are ready to battle Tottenham for Bellingham’s signature this summer, with the Red Devils also said to be big fans of the young midfielder.

The same update also suggested that the Black Cats would be in a strong position to hold on to their star man if they achieve promotion to the Premier League.
