Five Man United stars back in full training ahead of Forest clash

0 8

Five Manchester United stars have returned to training ahead of their Premier League clash at Nottingham Forest next Tuesday.

Defenders Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and goalkeepers Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton were spotted training at Carrington today.

Yoro missed United’s last two fixtures before the international break and has been absent for 26 games due to various fitness concerns since the start of the season.

Maguire has not featured since the FA Cup fifth-round defeat against Fulham earlier this month. He has missed 11 games due to injuries this term.

The duo’s return would allow manager Ruben Amorim to cope with centre-backs Lisandro Martinez and Ayden Heaven’s absence for the upcoming fixtures.

Shaw is one of United’s long-term absentees, having been sidelined since the league encounter with Everton at Old Trafford last December.

Shaw’s future at United is uncertain due to his persistent injury concerns and the arrival of Patrick Dorgu, who has become the first-choice left-back.

Bayindir has not been included in the matchday squad since January’s FA Cup victory at Arsenal, while Heaton has not been on the teamsheet since the Europa League clash with FSCB.

Talented forward Bendito Mantato, who is set to sign his first professional contract next week, was also spotted in training alongside fellow academy youngsters Godwill Kukonki, Jim Thwaites, and Reece Munro.

Noussair Mazraoui, Victor Lindelof, and Manuel Ugarte were absent. Amorim gave them a day off after playing for their respective nations on Tuesday.

United’s schedule next month is packed, with seven games, and Amorim needs a healthy squad to navigate the fixtures.

While there is little to fight for in the league, winning the Europa League is crucial to securing a place in next season’s Champions League.
