Patriots Wideout Asks Question After Hanging Out With Top Draft Prospect
Kendrick Bourne might have a future as an NFL executive once he’s done catching passes in the league.
Arguably, no one on the Patriots roster is more mindful of roster building than Bourne, who constantly is campaigning for New England to add high-level players. The veteran wideout recently was very outspoken about wanting to team up with Cooper Kupp, and he was overjoyed when the Patriots added Stefon Diggs.
But on Thursday, Bourne shifted his focus to a different skill position.
The eighth-year pro posted a series of Instagram photos with Ashton Jeanty, one of the best players in the 2025 draft class. After hanging out with the talented running back in Los Angeles, Bourne posed the question: “Jeanty to the Patriots?”
It wouldn’t be at all surprising if New England selected a running back in next month’s draft, as the 2024 season wasn’t the greatest for Rhamondre Stevenson. However, there’s virtually no chance Jeanty ends up with the Patriots. Mike Vrabel and company have too many other pressing needs worth addressing in the first round, and the 2025 Heisman Trophy finalist almost certainly will not still be on the board come Day 2 of the draft.
As for Bourne, there’s a chance he will join Jeanty in playing outside of New England next season. Diggs’ arrival will create a fascinating position battle for the Patriots, and Bourne very well could be the odd man out.
