Patriots Star Expresses Shock Over Veteran’s Reported Release

The Patriots reportedly will part ways with a former captain, and it was a move not many players saw coming.

New England reportedly will release linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley. The 28-year-old was on the Super Bowl LIII-winning team and was a respected veteran leader in the locker room.

A Patriots star didn’t waste time to reveal his reaction to the report.

“Bruh what???” Christian Gonzalez posted on X on Friday.

Bentley’s reported release came as part of sweeping changes made by new head coach Mike Vrabel. New England also parted ways with David Andrews, Jonathan Jones and Deatrich Wise this offseason, and Joe Cardona remains the only player on the roster from the last Super Bowl-winning team.
