By what you have described it seams you're using IONOS website builder as you mention templates. I don't think it has a built-in search so yes you would need to embed code from a search provider like Google, but all that would do is give you a search box but the user would then use Google to search just your site. Not very professional....

Not being critical but just some advice, if your users need to use a search box to find content on your site you may need to consider reviewing your sites navigation menu, the user interface and user experience. It may just be that your site has out grown the IONOS website builder platform, it is a simple website builder after all. Without knowing what your business is or what the site does it's hard to say.
