Jonathan David makes big transfer admission as Tottenham circle
Rumoured Tottenham target Jonathan David has made an admission about his future at Lille and about the kind of club he wants to join this summer.
David has been one of the most prolific forwards across Europe’s top five leagues over the last four years. With the striker’s contract with Lille running out this summer, he is expected to be one of the hottest properties of the upcoming transfer window.
It has been suggested by various sources that a move to the Premier League is very much on the cards for David as he explores his options ahead of the summer.
Just a few days ago, it was alleged that Tottenham are engaged in ‘active and concrete negotiations’ with David regarding a free transfer to N17 this summer.

However, Tottenham Hotspur are not the only club eyeing the Canadian international, with London rivals, Arsenal and West Ham expected to step up their pursuit of Jonathan David over the coming weeks.
The striker, who has chosen to keep his cards close to his chest until now, has now finally broken the silence regarding his future.
After scoring the match-winner in Canada’s 2-1 win over the United States in the Concacaf Nations League third-place playoff on Sunday, David admitted that he will look to play at the highest level if he makes a switch from Lille this summer.
He told Golazo America: “I’m not sure if I’m staying [at Lille] or going, but if I do end up going, I’m going to push to play at the highest level.”
Does this give Arsenal and co an advantage over Tottenham?
David’s latest comments suggest that he wants to join a Champions League club if he does decide to leave Lille in the summer.
That might give Arsenal a big advantage over Ange Postecoglou’s side in the race for the 25-year-old’s signature.
Unless Tottenham win the Europa League, it would be next to impossible for them to compete with the top Premier League clubs for elite players this summer.
