Tottenham midfielder tipped for an ‘inevitable parting of the ways’ this summer

0 5

Alasdair Gold believes that one Tottenham man is now facing an uphill battle to save his Spurs career and he is unlikely to receive much interest from big clubs even if he is put in the shop window.

Two of Tottenham Hotspur’s senior midfielders, Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma will both soon enter the final year of their contracts, but it seems like they might face different fates over the next few months.

Reports indicate that Spurs are set to open talks with Bentacnur regarding a new deal, but according to a few sources, Tottenham are expected to listen to offers for Bissouma this summer.

It has now been suggested that amidst the Mali international’s struggles at Tottenham, he is expected to part ways in the coming months – but he may find it tricky to earn a big move.

Alasdair Gold makes Yves Bissouma transfer claim

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now revealed that Bissouma is a popular figure in the Tottenham changing room and takes the young players at the club under his wing.

However, given his continuing struggles this season and with just a year left on his deal, Gold says it is ‘difficult to see’ the midfielder remaining at Tottenham next season unless there is a ‘big U-turn’ in his form.

The journalist suggests that Spurs might be tempted to take up what could be their last chance to get some return on the £30m they paid for the former Brighton man back in 2022.

In fact, Gold tweeted that Bissouma seems destined for an ‘inevitable parting of the ways with Spurs at this rate’.

Gold added that few of the bigger sides will see much value in taking a risk on Bissouma due to his inability to deliver at Tottenham this season. The journalist also wonders whether the 28-year-old himself would want to take a step down to what would be perceived as a smaller side.

A Premier League club have already shown an interest in Bissouma

This update by Gold comes on the back of a report at the start of this month which claimed that Bissouma has emerged as a target for Crystal Palace ahead of the summer window.

The update asserted that the Eagles could be joined in the race for the midfielder Ligue 1 duo, Olympique Marseille and OGC Nice, who are also keeping tabs on the Tottenham man.

Whether Bissouma is attracted by any of those projects or waits for a bigger offer to come along remains to be seen.
