Tottenham could beat Man City to sign the next Lucas Bergvall this summer

0 8

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to battle Manchester City and Newcastle United for an exciting teenage winger and the North London club have one advantage in the transfer race over their Premier League rivals.

Spurs have had plenty of success when it comes to signing talented teenagers and helping them mature into top-class players.

Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall have both come on leaps and bounds since their switch to Tottenham last summer, while the likes of Destiny Udogie and Pape Sarr also previously proved to be similar success stories.

It thus comes as no surprise to hear that Spurs plan on persisting with the same strategy, with the club allegedly set to turn their attention to another young Swede, who they see as the ‘next Lucas Bergvall’.

Spurs trying to beat Man City and Newcastle to winger

This update comes from GiveMeSport, who say that Tottenham have now set their sights on a summer deal for Copenhagen star Roony Bardghji.

The report explains that the 19-year-old has been on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar for a while, with the North London club seeing the youngster as someone with huge potential.

Bardghji is also said to be on the radar of both Man City and Newcastle United, but Tottenham have an advantage over those clubs as they have a good relationship with the agency which represents the Swede.

The outlet adds that with the winger set to enter the final year of his deal this June, Spurs have an opportunity to land him for ‘well under £10m’.

Tottenham are not put off by Roony Bardghji’s injury woes

Bardghji has been out of action for nearly 12 months, having not kicked a ball since suffering an ACL injury in April of 2024.

However, GiveMeSport claim that Tottenham are not deterred by that as they see it as an opportunity to buy an extremely talented player at a discount. The Lilywhites believe that Bardghji’s potential could be unlocked once he regains full fitness.

The publication asserts that Bardghji is now not far away from returning to action and is ‘edging towards making a comeback’.
