Match Report: Ashford Utd Women FC 0-5 Dartford FC

Following last weekend’s win over Saltdean Utd, Darts were back on the road as we headed to Homelands Park to take on Ashford Utd Women.
The Darts began the game on the front foot and we were ahead inside the first five minutes. In the 4th minute, a great through ball from Georgie Davis put Amy Russ through on goal.
The Darts forward poked the ball beyond the keeper to put us ahead.
We continued to create good goal scoring opportunities and doubled our lead midway through the first half. A through ball from Amy Russ put Georgie Davis through. The initial effort on goal from the Darts defender was saved, but the rebound fell into the path of Davis, who poked the ball into the empty net.
Darts made it three before the half time break. In the 31st minute, a long diagonal into the box was headed on by Emily Vaughan into the path of Lizzie Adams. The Darts midfielder made no mistake from 4 yds out and we were three ahead at the midway point.
Darts began the second half well and it wasn’t long before we had goal number four. In the 53rd minute, a free kick from Abbey Davies found Amy Russ unmarked in the box. The Darts forward diverted the bouncing ball beyond the keeper to score her second goal of the game.
The visitors continued to create chances as the half went on and goal number five came 8 minutes from time. In the 82nd minute, a good interchange between Brionne Fowle and Shauni Griffiths saw Fowle go through on goal. The Darts midfielder with a fine finish from a tight angle to top off a solid performance from the Darts.
