FIRST TEAM players at Queen’s Park reported for training at our Lochinch training centre this morning (Monday, March 17).
The session was taken by interim head coach Steven MacLean and interim assistant Sean Crighton following the departures of head coach Callum Davidson and assistant Barry Nicholson announced over the weekend.
The club wishes to thank both Callum and Barry, and place on record our gratitude for their effort and endeavour throughout their period with the Club.
Undoubtedly the highlights of this period include our memorable Scottish Cup win over Rangers, and both leave a lasting legacy at the club with our first national cup final in more than a century to look forward to.
However, despite supplementing the first-team with top-level loan targets in the January transfer window, our recent form of three league wins in four months of the William Hill Championship leaves us six points above the relegation play-off place.
The decision to part ways with two of our coaching staff was not an easy one, and we again thank both Callum and Barry for their sterling efforts and all at Queen’s Park FC wish them well for the future.
As confirmed at the weekend, Steven MacLean and Sean Crighton will lead the first-team during this interim period.
Steven and Sean have been with Queen’s Park since June 2024, with Sean leading the Spiders’ B team to the top of this season’s reserve league.
The club hope the fantastic support Queen’s Park fans and members have shown throughout the season will continue with backing for Steven and Sean as we take this opportunity to plan for the future, re-align our player pathway and focus on youth while developing an attractive, attacking brand of football for all Spiders supporters.
