Former Tottenham manager admits he would return if Daniel Levy asked

0 2

In a recent interview, former Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has admitted he would be open to a return to Spurs if asked by Daniel Levy.

29 games played. Fifteen defeats. Four draws. Ten wins. Fourteenth in the Premier League table and fifteen points off fourth place. That’s Tottenham Hotspur’s league form.

In the domestic cups? A disaster. Knocked out in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup, losing 4-1 on aggregate, and dumped out of the FA Cup in the fourth round.

A golden opportunity wasted—Spurs had a clear path to the FA Cup semi-finals with many of England’s “big six” already eliminated.

Europe, however, remains the only glimmer of hope. Tottenham Hotspur are still in the Europa League and are set to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-finals.

Harry Redknapp open to a Tottenham Hotspur return

Given Spurs’ performances this season, Ange Postecoglou’s position should, under normal circumstances, be under serious threat.

However, reports suggest that Tottenham will wait until the end of the season to review Postecoglou’s tenure before making any decisions regarding his future.

That leaves the door slightly ajar. If Spurs decide to part ways with Postecoglou, a replacement will be needed.

And if the job does become available, Harry Redknapp has made it clear—he’d be open to returning.

When asked about a potential return to Tottenham, Redknapp told talkSport: “Of course you would. You know you miss it, you love it. There’s nothing like it, you know, the buzz of it all.”

He jokingly added that he wouldn’t be available immediately, but only after Cheltenham is finished! saying: “If Daniel rang me and said could you come in this week? I’d say I can’t. I could start next week if you want.”

Who could take the Spurs job if Ange Postecoglou leaves?

Redknapp has since retired from football management, which means it is very unlikely he will make a return. However, If Postecoglou is moved on, several managers would be interested in the job.

Andoni Iraola is one name to watch. The Bournemouth boss has done an impressive job, and Spurs allegedly appreciate Iraola’s work. Of course, for now, the club remains committed to Postecoglou.

Mauricio Pochettino has also made it clear he is keen on a Tottenham Hotspur return. With managers publicly expressing interest in the Spurs job, the pressure on Postecoglou will only intensify in the coming weeks.
