"Player well": Amorim provides big update on 8/10 "focussed" Man Utd ace after Leicester win

0 4

Manchester United secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a composed finish.

Second-half strikes from Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes sealed all three points for the Red Devils.

Ayden Heaven marked his first Premier League start with a phenomenal 8/10 display but was unfortunately stretchered off with an injury in the second half.

Speaking to Sky Sports (h/t BBC Sports) after the game, manager Ruben Amorim provided a key update on Heaven.

He said: “It’s hard to know because we have to evaluate during the week. He already played well against Arsenal and Real Sociedad.

“Today for me was the most difficult game for him because we expect him to relax a bit, but he was so focused.”

Heaven’s injury appeared serious as he was taken off on a stretcher after the break.

The 18-year-old was United’s best player in the first half, dictating play with composure and confidence.

He recorded a 90% passing accuracy and won both of his tackles.

Defensively solid, he won six duels and produced a brilliant last-man tackle to help preserve United’s clean sheet.

He also played two incisive passes into the final third, showcasing his excellent ball-playing ability.

Heaven is a promising talent, and Arsenal may regret letting him go for a bargain fee of around £1.5 million.

The teenager exudes confidence, but a serious injury will present a significant mental challenge for him to overcome.

With injuries to Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro, Heaven has an important role to play this season.
