Ford Final Five Facts: Bruins Unable Capture Lightning In Series Finale
The Boston Bruins were unable to capture the season series against a slumping Tampa Bay Lightning, who snapped a 3-game losing streak to win Saturday’s game 6-2.
The game began with both Victor Hedman and Elias Lindholm scoring their twelfth of the season in the first period, with Lindholm extending his point streak to 3-games. But the Bruins were overtaken in the second period by an onslaught of goals from the Lightning, who brought the score to 4-1 by the end of the second period.
Marat Khusnutdinov opened up scoring in the third period with his second goal in as many games. Khusnutdinov scored as many goals in 57 games with the Wild this season than he has in four games with the Bruins, showing some potential for Boston.
Henri Jokiharku assisted on Khusnutdinov’s goal for his first point as a Bruin. Brandon Hagel scored a career-high 31st goal tonight. The Bruins and Lightning split the season series 2-2.
