Swerve! NFL Insider Flips On Reported Cooper Kupp Favorite
ESPN’s Adam Schefter didn’t have the greatest start to his Friday.
Schefter dropped a bomb in the early hours of the morning, revealing that the Dallas Cowboys had emerged and were working toward a deal with free agent wide receiver Cooper Kupp.
It was only a matter of time until the contract gets signed then, right? Wrong!
Schefter quickly reworded his report, sending out an adjustment less than an hour later.
“While the Cowboys made what one source described as ‘a push’ for Cooper Kupp, they still are not considered the likely landing spot for the former Rams wide receiver, per source,” Schefter said.

Kupp hasn’t been on the open market very long, but has already seen nearly a dozen teams enter and leave the conversation to obtain his services. The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported Friday that the Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks were the favorites, so maybe there’s more jostling going on between those two teams.
Schefter and Russini both reported that a deal could come as early as Friday, though, so it might be a busy day for those looking to see if the sweepstakes will conclude.
