Milton Williams Makes Demand After Finalizing Patriots Contract
What a few months it’s been for Milton Williams.
Williams on Thursday finalized his new contract with the New England Patriots, who gave the defensive tackle the richest deal in franchise history in terms of annual value. The 25-year-old put pen to paper just over a month after his outstanding performance in the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Even though he’s no longer with the Birds, Williams still is riding high on the heels of that championship triumph. The 2021 third-round pick made as much clear on social media after he was formally introduced by the Patriots.
“Don’t forget to say Champion when you mention my name,” Williams posted to X.
Williams probably won’t have the opportunity to play on Super Sunday again in his first season with the Patriots. However, Mike Vrabel and company clearly view the Louisiana Tech product as the kind of standout player who can help New England regain championship contender status.
And as you could gather from Williams’ first press conference in Foxboro, Mass., he has the right mindset and attitude to be a leader for a rebuilding group.
