Match Preview: Ebbsfleet United (A)

0 0

Next up for AFC Fylde is a huge clash on the road as we take on Ebbsfleet United at the Kuflink Stadium.

The Coasters are looking to get back to winning ways after falling to defeat against Braintree Town last weekend.

Fylde are looking to complete a league double over the Fleet after securing a 2-0 win back in December.

Goals from Charlie Jolley and Jon Ustabasi proved the difference under the Mill Farm lights as Fylde got back to winning ways.

Opposition Dugout: Josh Wright

In the opposition dugout for Saturday’s game will be former Gillingham midfielder Josh Wright.

Born in Bethnal Green, the 35-year-old moved into the Ebbsfleet Managerial role in December 2024 following the departure of Harry Watling.

As a player, Wright came through the ranks at Charlton Athletic where he signed his first professional contract in April 2007.

He enjoyed loan spells at the likes of Barnet, Brentford and Gillingham before spending permanent spells at the likes of Scunthorpe United and Millwall. He later rejoined the Gills on a permanent deal in 2015 where he played nearly 100 games.

He also represented England at youth level, representing the Three Lions at U16’s up to U19’s level.

One to watch: Dominic Poleon

Poleon was in the academy at Chelsea, before switching to Leeds United, where he made his debut at Elland Road in 2012.

The 31-year-old had various spells across the Football League, featuring for Oldham, AFC Wimbledon, Bradford City, Crawley Town and Newport County.

He made the move to Ebbsfleet in February 2021, following a loan spell at Dover Athletic.

Poleon has gone on to over 70 goals for the Fleet in under 150 games, including 36 goals in their National League South title winning campaign.

Born in England, Poleon represents St. Lucia at international level and has three goals in five caps, with all of his goals coming in one game against Sint Maarten.
