Panthers Add Seth Jones, Brad Marchand Before NHL Deadline
Despite being the reigning Stanley Cup Champions, the Florida Panthers still made some significant changes to their roster ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline. Most significant was the addition of forward Brad Marchand, who spent his entire career with the Boston Bruins organization and served as captain before being traded to Florida for a conditional second-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft.
The Panthers front office also added forward Nico Sturm, defenseman Seth Jones, and goaltenders Kaapo Kahkonen and Vitek Vanecek. They sent forward Patrick Giles to San Jose, goaltender Chris Dreiger to Winnipeg, and goaltender Spencer Knight to Chicago. The addition of Seth Jones is fortuitous as Aaron Ekblad’s was suspended by the NHL for 20 games.
