Tottenham could sign Kingsley Coman for just £25m but there is one problem
Tottenham Hotspur could land Kingsley Coman for a cut-price fee, but the player is reportedly prioritising a move elsewhere as things stand.
One would expect Ange Postecoglou’s men to bolster their forward line in the summer as Timo Werner’s loan spell comes to an end while Spurs are expected to cash in on Richarlison.
Over the last few days, we have heard reports that Tottenham have expressed an interest in Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, who is thought to be surplus to requirements at the Allianz Arena.
It was explained in the report that Spurs could battle Liverpool and Newcastle for the 28-year-old, and a fresh update has now shed light on what it would take for the Lilywhites to price Coman away from the Allianz Arena.
Kingsley Coman is available for a modest fee but there is one stumbling block
Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg has now taken to social media to reveal that Bayern are ready to give Coman the greenlight to depart at the end of the season.
He states that it would take an offer of just €30m-€40m (£25.1m-£33.5m) to sign the France international, but he explains that despite attracting interest from the Premier League, the winger is leaning towards a move to Saudi Arabia.
Plettenberg does not name Tottenham as a potential destination for Coman, but he does report on Liverpool’s interest in the player, revealing that it has not gone past the initial enquiry stage for now.
Could Totteham’s relationship with Bayern give them an advantage?
We know that Spurs and Bayern Munich have forged a strong relationship over the last couple of years, with the two clubs striking deals for Harry Kane, Eric Dier and Matyhs Tel.
That should potentially give Tottenham an advantage over other suitors in the race for Coman, but the decision might ultimately come down to the France international.
It would be next to impossible for Spurs to compete with the kind of contract offer that the winger is likely to get from Saudi Arabia.
