DUO DEPART IN SEARCH OF MINUTES
Royston Town FC can announce that striker Edu Toiny-Pendred will be joining Kings Langley FC for the remainder of the season as he continues to recover from his lengthy injury layoff.
Edu, who suffered an ACL injury has worked tirelessly with Scott & Juan to strengthen the knee back to full fitness, and it is now decided that the main thing Edu requires for the remainder of the season is as many minutes on the pitch as possible. Edu will split his training sessions between us and KL for the remainder of the season, with the aim being he returns to pre-season with us with valuable playing time in the tank.
Manager Chris Watters explained
“Edu is a massive part of what we are looking to build at this football club and, whilst I would love to have him at my disposal each week, we had to put our own wants aside and consider what was best for him. If he can go and get 900 minutes from now til the end of the season, then we benefit for next season, so it’s a long-term vision we’ve chosen over this one.”
In addition, defender Eunis Lievins has rejoined Bourne Town on dual registration. Eunis is another who spent some time on the sidelines following injury and the agreement with Bourne Town will allow him the chance to play regularly, whilst still being available when needed. We wish both Edu and Eunis the best of luck during their time away and look forward to welcoming them back to Garden Walk for pre-season, where they will rejoin the squad.
Chris Watters on Eunis’ dual-registration
“Eunis again has had a period of time unavailable due to injury and has probably found himself down the pecking order due to the performance levels of others whilst he was out, so this arrangement keeps him playing and fit as he continues to push the other lads for his place.”
