Agent believes Tottenham could face bidding war for Lamine Camara

0 4

A football agent from Senegal has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur could soon be joined in the race for a Ligue 1 midfielder by many of their Premier League rivals.

Spurs already have a talented young Senegalese midfielder in their ranks in Pape Sarr, but the North London club are now looking to sign another budding young midfield talent from the West African nation.

The player in question is AS Monaco’s Lamine Camara, whose reputation has blossomed since his move to the club last summer.

The 21-year-old, who has already been capped 23 times for his country, is very highly thought of by talent spotters and it emerged a few days ago that both Tottenham and Liverpool were eyeing a summer move for Lamine Camara.

Tottenham to face competition for Lamine Camara

Football agent Bassirou Sakho has now been speaking with Africa Foot regarding the speculation over the Monaco man.

Sakho is convinced that it is only a matter of time before the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City enter the race for the young defensive midfielder.

When asked about the reports in the British press about the interest in Lamine Camara, the agent told the outlet: “In fact, the article mentions that Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, among the Premier League clubs, are keen to recruit Senegal’s best prospect since Sadio Mane.

“If these two clubs show an interest, the other giants of English football, such as Manchester City and Chelsea, who will be making a big splash in the next mercato, could be interested in Lamine Camara’s services. And that would be a good thing for the young Senegalese prospect.”

Camara backed to be a success in England

Midfield imports from Ligue 1 into the Premier League have tended to be hit-and-miss over recent years, but Sakho is convinced that Camara has all the tools to succeed in the English top flight.

Despite having not even completed a full season in Ligue 1, he believes that the Senegalese midfielder is ready to make a move to one of the top clubs in the Premier League.

Sakho added about the 21-year-old: “He has all the qualities to succeed in this league, and it will also be a new page in his career for him. Monaco are in the process of examining all offers for his interest.

“He’s a kid full of promise, he’s already shown his know-how with the Senegalese youth teams, with the Senegalese senior national team as well, and with the clubs he’s played for.

“We’ve seen it with AS Monaco, where he’s one of the team’s metronomes. Despite his young age, he will be able to adapt alongside great players and learn to progress.”
