Tottenham take first steps to sign Atalanta star who wants Premier League move
A Serie A forward who has scored nearly 50 goals over the last three seasons is expected to be on his way to the Premier League this summer, with Tottenham one of two clubs leading the race for his services.
Ademola Lookman has been a revelation since his switch to Atalanta back in 2022, having scored 49 goals across 108 games for the Serie A side.
However, reports from Italy have claimed over recent weeks that Lookman’s future is in doubt after his public spat with manager Gian Piero Gasperini last month.
It was suggested that the door might have thus been opened for Tottenham Hotspur to swoop for the forward, and a fresh update on the attacker’s future has now further boosted Spurs’ hopes of landing him.
Ademola Lookman is interesting Tottenham and Liverpool
JuveLive have now claimed that Lookman now looks destined to leave Bergamo at the end of the season, with a return to England looking the most likely outcome.
In fact, it is revealed that the Nigeria international’s entourage have already made it clear that their client would be keen on moving back to the Premier League.
Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool are all interested in acquiring Ademola Lookman’s services, and while Juventus are also interested in the forward, Atalanta would prefer not to sell him to a direct rival, thus giving the English clubs an advantage.
Spurs ready to spend a sizable fee on Lookman
The outlet goes on to reveal that both Spurs and Liverpool have ‘taken the first steps’ towards signing the former Everton man, with both clubs ready to offer €45m (£37.4m) for the player.
Juve have also made contact with Lookman’s entourage, but their hopes are now said to be ‘fading away’ amidst recent developments.
The interest of the Reds and Spurs in the Atalanta man is said to be at a more advanced stage than that of the Bianconeri, who might struggle to complete a deal for the prolific forward.
