Tottenham Hotspur have spoken to the representatives of Dean Huijsen, but the North London club face an uphill battle in winning the race for the player in the summer.

Dean Huijsen has surprised everyone with how quickly he has taken to the Premier League following his switch from Juventus to Bournemouth last summer.

He has shown the kind of maturity that one would not expect of a 19-year-old, and his performances at the South Cost have allegedly piqued the interest of Spurs.

Several outlets have reported over recent weeks that Tottenham are plotting a move for Dean Huijsen, who is thought to have a release clause of around £50m.

TBR Football have now confirmed the existence of the release clause, revealing that it has been confirmed by Huijsen’s representatives, even though Bournemouth have tried to keep it under wraps.

However, the outlet reveals that Huijsen’s representatives have spoken to more than just Tottenham, including more than a dozen other clubs across the Premier League and Europe.

The teenager’s entourage have allegedly touched base with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle United ahead of the summer.

Additionally, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen are also showing an interest in the centre-back, thus complicating the Lilywhites’ transfer pursuit.

Bouremouth’s stance on keeping Huijsen

The report claims the Cherries are ready to offer the Spain Under-21 international a new contract as interest continues to build in his services.

They believe that Huijsen loves working with Andoni Iraola and retain hope that they could persuade him to stay for one more season.

However, Bournemouth are thought to be ‘frustrated’ by the actions of the defender’s representative and realise that the player might be on his way out of the Vitality Stadium.
