NFL Rumors: Travis Hunter Receives Rare Billing From Patriots
Travis Hunter isn’t hurting for fans, but it’s probably nice knowing he has more than a few at One Patriot Place.
MassLive’s Karen Guregian, Mark Daniels and Chris Mason spoke to at least two dozen coaches, agents, executives and talent evaluators at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. What did they learn regarding the most polarizing player in the 2025 NFL Draft?
The Patriots supposedly believe he’ll be both the best cornerback and the best wide receiver available.
It’s not exactly breaking news that one team would fall in love with Hunter, but there’s a lot to be said for that team holding the fourth overall pick. The Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants could go several different ways to kickstart the draft, but for now, there seems to be a distinct possibility that the reigning Heisman Trophy winner could be available at No. 4.
Hunter has long been viewed among the best players at each of those positions, but for a team to put him ahead of Arizona’s Tet McMillan at wide receiver and Michigan’s Will Johnson at cornerback would suggest it’s interested in allowing him to play both sides of the ball.
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel already revealed that the team met with Hunter, while also sharing that he’s talked some trash about playing both ways.
