David Longwell & Chris Neal to Take Charge Until End of the Season
Following the departure of Kevin Phillips, the club can confirm that David Longwell and Chris Neal will take charge of all first-team matters until the end of the season.
Longwell, who joined the club initially as Assistant Head Coach in January, will be taking over first team duties along with Goalkeeper Coach Chris Neal who has overseen an number of games in an interim role already this campaign.
After taking charge of their first game over the weekend, claiming a brilliant 2-1 win against play-off hopeful’s Altrincham, the duo will be in the dugout for the remainder of the campaign.
Speaking on the announcement, David Longwell said: “The club have asked us to continue supporting the players and asked us to keep it going which we’re obviously more than happy to do.”
“I was brought in to provide support and I’m going to continue to do exactly that for the players.
“I told the players that I will just continue to work hard, just like all the staff in there and we will do our utmost to get the best out of the players and make sure they keep working hard.
“What we proved on Saturday is that if you do that and everyone works hard, together, then results come and we need to do more of that over the next 14 games.”
A full interview with David Longwell will be available on the club website shortly.
Everyone at the club wishes both David and Chris all the best for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.
