Pressure mounts on Daniel Levy at Tottenham

In the last few days, Daniel Levy has been feeling the heat from Tottenham Hotspur fans who have had enough from their current chairman.

Spurs are currently out of the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and at the time of writing the Lilywhites are in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Since the UCL Champions League Final in 2019, the club has been steadily declining. The lack of proper planning and squad building was exposed this season when injuries hit the squad and Tottenham struggled to cope.

Before the game against Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur fans were out in ‘thousands’ to make their voices heard.

“Get out of our club, Daniel Levy, get out of our club,” Spurs fans chanted, as they marched from Crossroads of Lordship Lane/High Road to outside the West Stand.

The protest did not stop there as the Tottenham Hotspur fans continued even after the Manchester United game in a sit-in protest, chanting for Levy and co to “get out our club.”

The fans are growing agitated as this is not the first time they will come out to protest against the owner this season. However, this wave of protest and the support has been strong.

What next for Daniel Levy and the Tottenham hierarchy?

There have been protests before at Tottenham and there has certainly been a significant level of discontent bubbling ever since Mauricio Pochettino was dismissed by the club.

In the past, the noise has always simmered for a few months before falling away again – but this time feels different. It doesn’t seem as though the fans have any intention of stopping. If anything, the chants, protests, and flags are getting bigger and more prevalent by the week.

Daniel Levy cannot run or hide from these protests. Either he remains Tottenham chairman and faces the criticism head-on, or finally cashes in on his Spurs shares and moves onto something new.
