Tottenham keen on another Swedish starlet to join Lucas Bergvall in N17
Tottenham Hotspur have been long-term admirers of a pacy Swedish winger, who is turning a lot of heads with his performances in Danish football. The Lilywhites may have an opportunity to sign the player for a cut-price fee in the summer.
Tottenham eyeing move for Swedish teenager
Spurs have already shown that they are keeping tabs on the best-emerging talent from Swedish football, having signed Lucas Bergvall last year, who joined his international teammate, Dejan Kulusevski, in North London.
Over the last 12 months, we have seen plenty of reports suggesting that Tottenham are also keen on securing the services of another Swedish teenager, who is turning a lot of heads with his performances in Denmark.
The player in question is Roony Bardghji, who has won many admirers since breaking into Copenhagen’s starting eleven and has also impressed for Sweden’s Under-21s.
Roony Bardghji is turning Tottenham heads
A fresh report from TBR Football says that Tottenham continue to have an eye on Bardghji, stating that there is ‘a distinct possibility’ for the 19-year-old to leave Copenhagen in the summer.
This is because the winger’s current contract runs out at the end of the Danish league season in December of 2025.
It is explained that Tottenham may not have to wait until January of next year to sign the youngster as Copenhagen may decide to put him on the shop window at the end of the season.
However, the report adds that Spurs might have to contend with competition from their Premier League rivals as Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Newcastle and Brighton are all admirers of the teenager.
Why Bardghji may be available for a cut-price fee
TBR Football also reveal that Spurs enquired about the young winger during January of last year and were quoted a price of £21.5m for him.
However, the outlet claims that Bardghji could be available for a ‘significantly lower fee’ in the summer, given his contract situation.
Additionally, it is pointed out that the pacy wide man has not played at all this season after suffering a knee ligament injury in the summer.
Although he is now on the cusp of a return after being back in training, the injury might have led to his transfer value dropping.
