Jets Reportedly Told Aaron Rodgers No More ‘Pat McAfee Show’ If QB Returned
The circus which previously followed Aaron Rodgers was not about to fly under new ringmaster Aaron Glenn. And it seemingly played a role in New York deciding to move on from the veteran quarterback.
FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer on Super Sunday reported the Jets informed Rodgers their intentions to move on. The Athletic’s Dianna Russini on Tuesday issued an interesting follow-up report on the Rodgers situation.
Russini reported the Jets presented Rodgers with a “potential plan” to move forward with him as their quarterback. However, it included a few requirements if he were to return.
“It included stipulations about outside media work during the season, and a requirement that he attend all mandatory offseason workouts, according to team and league sources,” Russini wrote. “… Rodgers would no longer be permitted to make outside media appearances during the season, including his regular, paid appearances on ‘The Pat McAfee Show.'”
Rodgers made headlines last offseason when he skipped out on mandatory minicamp for a trip to Egypt. He made even more headlines during his weekly appearances with McAfee.
According to multiple reports, Gang Green is now expected to trade or release the 41-year-old quarterback.
