I think the same should be acknowledged about Laird too. He played really well Saturday and has done really well since Christmas. Always thought the flak he has had at times in the past was off target. He’s easily good enough for a top championship side in my opinion.

I've always liked Laird but I think it's fair to say that there's been a noticeable difference in his attitude over the last 10 or so games. Even the commentators mentioned in the Newcastle match that you could see it in his eyes how focussed and determined he was. That's not something anyone would have said about Laird last season.

Previously he looked like he was having fun out there - he was interacting with the crowd, was joking with his team mates and always had a big smile on his face. Now he looks like he means business and we're seeing a big improvement in his performances.
