Tom Tweedy Joins the Coasters
AFC Fylde are delighted to announce the signing of Tom Tweedy who joins the club on a 28-day loan deal from Championship side Burnley.
The winger joins the Coasters for the upcoming month and is eligible for this evening’s clash against Halifax Town.
Tweedy came through the academy at Welsh Cymru Premier League side Penybont where he progressed into the first team before joining Burnley Under 21’s for an undisclosed fee.
After signing an 18-month deal with the Clarets, the Welsh midfielder claimed 18 goal contributions in 32 appearances in a productive 2023/24 campaign.
The 20-year-old continued that form into the current campaign, scoring nine times in his opening 19 appearances.
Speaking on his latest signing, Head Coach Kevin Phillips said: “We’re really pleased to get Tom in the building.
“With recent injuries, we needed another body out wide and Tom is a player with real quality. He’s recorded some brilliant numbers over the past few seasons at Burnley and we are hoping to see him continue that form here with us.
“He has worked with David (Longwell) before, and he is familiar with a number of lads already in the squad so it’s a good signing in a position we were keen to strengthen in.”
Everyone at AFC Fylde welcomes Tom to the club and wishes him all the best during his time at Mill Farm.
