Jamie O’Hara wants ‘organised’ manager to replace Ange Postecoglou

0 2

Jamie O’Hara has named the Premier League manager he would like to see replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur as the Lilywhites continue to go from bad to worse under the Australian.

The Leicester defeat has not been the final nail in the coffin

Many Spurs fans might have felt that the defeat against the Foxes at home on Sunday would have sealed Postecoglou‘s fate at Tottenham.

However, if reports over recent days are to be believed, that is not the case, with the Tottenham hierarchy still being hesitant to pull the plug on the current project.

Daniel Levy and co are thought to be understanding of the fact that the Australian is dealing with an injury crisis and are expected to stick with him at least until the second leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal against Liverpool next week.

Jamie O’Hara wants to see 42-year-old replace Ange Postecoglou

One manager who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham over the last few weeks has been Andoni Iraola, who has done an exceptional job at Bournemouth since taking over the South Coast club 18 months ago.

However, some outlets have suggested that the Cherries are determined to keep the Spaniard away from Tottenham’s clutches and are planning on offering him a new contract.

O’Hara admitted that he would take Iraola at Spurs, suggesting that the 42-year-old will make the Lilywhites an organised side if given time.

The pundit told Sky Sports News: “Look, the more I look at the Bournemouth manager, the more I think, I wouldn’t mind him at Spurs. He did need time but Ange [Postecoglou] has had time and he’ll need time at Tottenham and he’ll need his own players in. They’re organised. Nottingham Forest are organised. They weren’t yesterday but Bournemouth are organised. Fulham, Marco Silva, organised.”

Andoni Iraola seems the best option among suggested candidates

Appointing Iraola would not come without risk for Tottenham and there is no guarantee that the 42-year-old would be able to translate his success at Bournemouth to a bigger club.

He could struggle in a high-pressure environment like Graham Potter did, with the Spaniard not coming across as the strongest and most assertive of personalities, which one often needs to be to win the respect of big players.

However, purely on the merit of the work that he has done at the Vitality Stadium, his success when it comes to recruitment, and the style of football he plays, the Basque native seems like the best option for Tottenham now should they decide to part ways with Postecoglou.
